About ComPhot 2021

Computational Methods in Photosynthesis 2021 (ComPhot 2021) is an online workshop promoted by the International Society of Photosynthesis Research (ISPR, https://www.photosynthesis-research.org/ ). This international conference will bring together computational and experimental researchers investigating photosynthesis from the atomic scale to the mesoscale.

Topics will include QM and multiscale methods, modelling of excited states, quantum dynamics and spectroscopy, molecular dynamics methods for modelling electrostatics and structural dynamics, mesoscale modelling for the photosystem and beyond.

Our aim is to provide a venue for computational and theoretical biophysicists to reach out to the experimental community, explaining their methods and their latest results in a didactic and accessible way. Input from experimentalists will voice challenges and stimulate discussion on how to tackle them together. We hope that this meeting will help experimentalists in photosynthesis, as well as computational biophysicists outside photosynthesis and other researchers, to learn more on the modelling of photosynthetic processes and boost novel exciting collaborations in the field.

We will have Keynote and invited talks, as well as contributed talks and poster sessions. Computational talks will be complemented by international experts in experimental photosynthesis research, who will introduce the open questions on the experimental side and chair the following session.
